He declares to his village people that he works in a Cloth Mill in the city but he tells his newly wedded wife Lakhshmi the truth about his profession and she offers herself as a helping hand. In spite of earning good , Ram does not get respect from people in this work. So, Ram decides to open his own cloth shop in his village and it runs well. Bajrang visits Ram ,and teases him calling Jalebi,which doesn't go well with Ram ,and they fall out.Bajrang in anger spread a word in village and to Hansu (Ram Son) that he was a Jalebi seller in city and he is a liar. People start teasing Ram by calling him Jalebi. He feels humiliated and starts loosing his temper. Even Ram's son Hansu insults him and calls him fraud. Lakshmi dies because of cancer. Hansu asks his father to stay out of his house and shop.
