In a country that takes pride in having some of the world's best public senior care Guf is quite the odd one choosing to live without modern commodities such as running water, heated housing and electricity. Guf lives in an old bus in the forest, in rural Jutland. He has lived there for over 30 years by himself. He's not mentally ill nor does he drink, he just wants to live alone and take care of himself. He had a rough life but he doesn't linger in past. He lives and breathes in the present and interacts with the local society, and though he is well over 80 years by the time the movie was shot, he still takes care of everything from feeding his animals to chopping wood. Everybody's talking about simple living. There are television series about getting back to the authentic life. Guf is just doing it, without making a big deal about it.
