This angers the mother and daughter to such an extent, that they make life miserable for him, so he becomes tired of their wrangling and decides to visit the little cottage where he and his wife first kept house. Arriving there, he stands at the gate and dreams of his youth. The father through his own day dreams, finally persuades himself to allow his daughter to marry the man she thought she could not love, because he was not a pillar of the financial world.
