Your all-round view turns out to be a stroke of luck during a home visit. When Vicky visits 70-year-old Gerd Fischer because of his high blood pressure, she noticed motor weaknesses in his eight-month-old grandson. The experienced care assistant fears a rare and life-threatening muscle wasting disease in the little one. Although it is urgent, his mother Birgit does not even want to have him examined. Vicky and Chris manage - without Birgit's knowledge and with the help of Tom's father - to do a blood count on the boy. However, in order to help him, Vicky must figure out how to contact Tom's mother. Legacy family burdens play a problematic role in Vicky's new beginning. She now wants to finally free herself from the expectations and influence of her dominant mother, Heidelinde. That works best when Vicky finds a new home for herself and her daughter Kim. She can count on her brother's support. Meanwhile, Dr. Chris Wegner faces a difficult personal decision: A new type of treatment promises the chance to get out of the wheelchair again.
