In the summer of 1995, he acted as translator for the humanitarian aid convoy to the Bosnian town of Tuzla, organised by Workers' Aid for Bosnia, a movement of solidarity in support of the Bosnian people. He has degrees in History from Cambridge (UK) and Yale (USA). The history of Yugoslavia in WWII is complicated and in today's show Marko will run through the changing military and political situation. We will examine the Axis invasion in 1941 and look at it's connection with Operation Barbarossa. Who were the Chetniks and the Partisans and why did they go to war against each other? Why did the Allies switch their support from the Chetniks to the Partisans. How important was Yugoslav resistance to Axis for the outcome of the war ?
