The aristocratic northerner is already having a hard time being accepted by his new Munich colleagues. Gerry Vogt, on the other hand, is a popular detective at Munich Police Headquarters. When his wife, Diana Vogt, is found shot dead, Hanns von Meuffels's suspicions about Gerry Vogt cause controversy everywhere. But shortly thereafter, it turns out that Diana Vogt is alive. The victim is her friend. Meuffels must investigate in a completely different direction. Everything indicates that Gerry Vogt's spurned lover, Cassandra, mistook the victim for Vogt's wife. Meuffels has long had enough clues that the perpetrator will try again. And he turns out to be right. The attempt to keep the potential victim, Diana, under close watch, proves extremely difficult. Once again, the perpetrator escapes at the last moment after another attack fails. While searching for Cassandra, a promising clue leads Hanns von Meuffels to the trail of an unsolved child murder from the 1990s. Meuffels is forced to delve even deeper into the depths of Munich's criminal history when a connection to a second unsolved murder of a woman emerges. These clues emerge in a highly disconcerting way, but none of them lead to the arrest of the perpetrator. Meuffels has no choice but to set a trap for Cassandra, with the help of police officer Anna Burnhauser. And in the end, Meuffels' solution to the case surpasses all expectations.
