Upon his return, he reunites with his childhood friend Vince who grants him a room in his motel. During his stay, Daven becomes romantically involved with the motel bartender, Jennifer. As they grow in intimacy, Jennifer eventually reveals to Daven that she's been implicated in an accidental homicide and was forced to work as an escort as a result. To her dismay, Daven shows very little sympathy and blames Jennifer for allowing herself to be manipulated instead of alerting the authorities. Jennifer feels powerless and trapped, having no one to turn to but her friend Debby. Through a late-night discussion with her, Jennifer finds out that she'd been the sitting duck for a con artist that had been using the same ploy time and time again to trick innocent women into becoming prostitutes: he fabricated the crimes, made the girls believe they were the culprits and then framed them. Jennifer vows to expose the man, but her desire for retribution gets the best of her as she decides to confront him, which sadly leads to her untimely death. To add insult to injury, Daven gets wrongfully accused of Jennifer's murder. He spends several hours in jail before the police release him and dismiss the charges, claiming that Jennifer had committed suicide after all. Yet before long Daven uncovers the truth: Jennifer had indeed been murdered, and the culprit was Vince, who had been unaware of Daven's relationship with Jennifer the entire time. Emotions reach their peak and the two childhood friends are brought to a final confrontation. Ultimately, Daven learns his most vital lesson yet: never let anger lure into you committing sin; instead, overcome your enemy by letting his own sins destroy him. Written by
