They explain that society's perception is guided by images in films and other media of "Indians", but that they are not "the Indians (we) have in mind" as portrayed in those images. Although some of those images are positive and some negative, they tend to be stereotypes. First Nations people in Canada, they explain, live like everyone else - they're your neighbors, your bus drivers, your shopkeepers.
