Amy,young mother living with her daughter, Andy, in an apartment in SFO. Struggling financially, she's become a streetwalker & the employee of a pimp, to support her daughter. Ajay is an immigrant FM India struggling in USA. Living with uncle in SFO, he supports himself by driving a cab. Betrothed to a woman he barely knows in India, his family tries to pull him back to the traditions. Amy is forced into his cab, friendship grows between them. Ajay stands up for Andy as father would.
