She holds a PhD in economic and social history from the University of Oxford, where her dissertation was about how the Thai economy was affected by world events in the 1940s and 1950s. This show will discuss Thailand's peculiar role in the Second World War. While Thailand was technically an Axis ally, its experience is more similar to an occupied country, with loss of control over its economy and resources.
