Mason, a smuggler, and his accomplice Nash, meet Ruth, who is flattered by Nash's attentions. Mason, the smuggler, conceals opium in the tire case of the automobile. Nash and Ruth enter the car. Joe sees Ruth with Nash and later quarrels with her. Joe is informed of opium smuggling. Suspicious officials search Nash's automobile. Fearful of capture, Nash abandons the car. As Joe approaches, Ruth is discovered and Joe finds the opium in the tire case. He pursues Nash and Mason. After an exciting chase, he captures the two crooks.
