Today after school they are near each other but hide in their cell phones from the anxiety of actually connecting. Flashback to a time without modern devices. The film is now in black and white giving it a nostalgic feel. They have a chance to have the exciting connection they want. There is humor and intelligence in their conversation. There is hope for their future. The conversation at the end is left wide open. Flash forward to modern times and Valentina's mom has arrived to pick her up.
