The rivals see each other all along their route, and each seeks advantage over the other. The grocer's boy by chance gets mixed up with them, and they make it hot for him, so he vows revenge. The ice man pours water in his rival's milk, and then goes to tip off the inspector. While the milkman is inside, Betty and the grocer's boy come along and it occurs to him to put vinegar into the milk. Betty, who does not want the milkman for a stepfather, thinks it a good plan. Now comes the inspector, condemns the milk and would arrest the milkman, but the latter suspects what has happened and blames the grocer's boy for the whole thing. They all chase him, and he and Betty are punished, while the widow remains undecided between her two lovers. Written by
