Jane explores modern human life from a place of innocence and vulnerability, she has never experienced the world she was warned about, the one full of monsters who poison and destroy her home. Can Jane find the strength and means to escape? Will Blakes's past catch up to him? The Inhumanity of Jane is an upcoming short film written and directed by Hannah Ellis. The film follows Jane, a selkie who finds herself on land for the first time. Why is this an important story to tell? The central theme is environmentalism, and we hope this short will bring awareness to current environmental issues. Jane is an outsider on land, and as the titular character, her viewpoint drives the short, allowing the audience to see the way we have treated this planet in a new light. Her story runs parallel to someone very very human. This ties the story back into reality, giving us something to relate to and pointing out the strength we all have inside. Written by
