After six ...See moreThe Swedish national final was held in Eriksbergshallen in Gothenburg on March 8, 1997, where the melody "Only she loves me", performed by the group Blond, won by having received the highest total score from the jury groups. After six years in a row of having the final night divided into two rounds, Sveriges Television decided to once again only have a single competition round in the final, as it had in previous years. However, the number of final contestants was increased from ten to twelve, just like in 1987 and 1988. For the first time, the event got its own program page on Sweden's Television's website svt.se.
