In 1889, the revival pastor Olof Larsson arrived in the village of Nås in Dalarna. A few years later, he had convinced 37 residents that they had to break up and move to Jerusalem. Reason: they would escape the end of the world. During the late 19th century, hundreds of thousands of Swedes emigrated from their poor home regions. But the emigrants in Jerusalem were unusual. They had lived a good farming life at home in Dalarna and did not leave out of compelling need.
