After the death of her daughter, she took on the responsibility of taking care of her granddaughter Maira, who eventually became her faithful squire in the fields. One early morning, a landslide caused by the winter season, leaves the main road cut off, a circumstance that puts at risk the harvest that Berta and Maira cultivated for a few weeks. So both women are forced to find a way to get to the nearest town to avoid losing the sale of their products. With no other alternative, Berta turns to a neighbor to lend her his bicycle, even though she does not know how to ride it. Written by
