Judge Irina Polyakova is forced to conduct the trial of a young rock musician who is accused of several murders. According to Soviet law, he faces capital punishment, and Irina is not eager to condemn a man to death. But the chairman of the Court, Valeriy, with whom Irina has an old romance, persuades her to take up this case. In return he promises to finally divorce his wife at the end of the trial. People's assessors Nadezhda and Natalya are also involved in the consideration of the case. They are very different, and both have their own problems: one cannot find a common language with her daughter - a rebel, the other is in love with a colleague who considers her to be a thieves' daughter of a professor and therefore despises her. Thus, the case of a maniac who killed six girls unites three women - a judge, a teacher and a doctor. See less
