Frank, whose offer of marriage she has refused, though he is her guardian's choice, plays the bridegroom, while Tom, the favored one, is in the role of minister. Holden, a card sharp, schemes so that Tom appears in a bad light when he fails to arrival at the rehearsal, and Marguerite, hurt, consents to Frank's request, "Let's get a real minister and be married now."
