Steven illustrates the physical and mental toll that the events of 2020 had on many people within the Asian American community. These experiences are symbolized through Steven's "blinks" as he recounts the year's significant events. These "blinks" include struggling events of rising Anti-Asian hate, teaching the Black Lives Matter movement to his father, and the COVID-19 pandemic. BLINK contains scenes of anti-black sentiment and the generational and cultural gap prevalent in the APIDA community. BLINK was made for people to empathize with the personal experiences that some in the APDIA community faced in 2020. Through struggles and adversity, communities and all types of people can unite in solidarity. This film is dedicated to the APDIA community.
