In Jakub Sedý's film, the capital of Ukraine is ugly, gray and rejecting. People walk the streets immersed in hopelessness, and they come to life only among their loved ones, behind closed doors. They work, celebrate and, above all, help their compatriots. Even though there is no shooting in Kiev, it is impossible to drown out the dangerous sounds still coming from the eastern border.
