The author of the photo was the famous photographer David Seymour. Tereska's photo went around the world, but no one knew who this girl was. The photo was first published in the Children of War album, and then reproduced in numerous periodicals and at world photography exhibitions, becoming a universal symbol of the trauma of children who survived the horrors of World War II. Patryk and Aneta, the protagonists of the film, are fascinated by photography and decide to discover the secret of photography. They undertake an investigation following David Seymour's trail; this investigation is the dramatic axis of the film. By discovering the dramatic fate of "other Tereskas" they immerse themselves in the dark history of the 20th century, which changes their attitude towards the whole history. What was supposed to be just an adventure turns out to be a constitutive experience, a new value was created, and the process of searching itself became more important than the final result of the investigation.
