Charlton Heston and John Ringling ...See moreCBS broadcast this one-hour remote from the winter quarters of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus, Sarasota, Florida, featuring circus performers and their families in a Yuletide party. Charlton Heston and John Ringling North served as hosts, introducing the circus acts and interviewing the children of the performers during the acts. Pantomiming his way through the proceedings was the noted clown, Emmett Kelly. Circus performances included Trevor Bale's Tigers, the Justino Loyal Riding Act, Hugo Schmitt's Performing Elephants, the Flying Palacios, The Cordons' Whip Cracking Act, and the acrobatic act, the Two Carmenas. Appearing in film sequences were Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball, Pat Brady, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Spring Byington, Johnny Carson, Eve Arden, and Peggy Wood. Music was by Merle Evans' circus band with Christmas Carols performed by the various circus acts and their families. See less
