This Sunday Anne hatches a secret plan: she will transform her dad's kitchen into an ice cream parlor so that when her mom arrives to pick her up, they will all sit together and be happy and eat homemade ice cream. Anne convinces Mike to make a series of home improvements, but as he finds himself confronted with the house's decay and memories of his marriage, his mood changes.
