Roswell Stevens joined the church in Canada and is the only individual to immigrate to the U.S. and take part in the exodus from Nauvoo, serve in the Mormon Battalion, cross the plains in the 1847 Vanguard company with Brigham Young and, while an old man, volunteer as a member of the Hole-In-The-Rock expedition.
