Their songs and food from the far side of the world shows a fierce pride in their culture, but this is now on the brink of extinction. Their story is one of preservation: over a century ago, the Afrikaans-speaking Boers of South Africa lost a war of independence against the British, resulting in 600 families of these descendants of the Dutch boarding ships and sailing to Argentina, to start a new life.
