As he struggles to piece together fragmented memories-slipping between reality, hallucinations, and flashbacks-he slowly uncovers the truth about the physical and emotional abuse he and his family have endured at the hands of his father. Through disorienting time jumps and haunting visions, Zack recalls the events leading up to his injury, the tragic loss of his brother-figure Sam, and the escalating violence at home. Meanwhile, his mother and sister make plans to escape with the help of a close friend, culminating in a final confrontation where Zack must be rescued from his father's rage.
