Flights of fancy makes

Hello,

I know I'm not imagining this. I know I'm awake and typing out this blog post. But in my head, I'm fast asleep. For the past two weeks, I have not been able to have a proper sleep. My sleep pattern is all screwed up and I just can't fix it. If I go to sleep at night at a normal time, I will wake up many times during the night. Eventually I'll fall into a deep sleep but that's when I need to wake up to prepare breakfast for the kids. During the day I struggle to stay awake. Finally I cave in or should I say unconsciousness overcame me. The nap I take will interfere with my night sleep again. I have an idea why my sleep pattern is all wrong. I have been taking panadols again as I am being attacked by little headaches every day. These shitty little headaches are always there but most of the time they don't get so bad that you'll run to a hospital to get your head checked out. I almost wish they were migraines. Yes, now I think I'm a little insane. Wishing they were migraines. Well, at least with migraines they eventually go away. Completely. With these little headaches, they are always hanging around. You never feel too ill but you don't feel great either. Such a pain. I feel like I'm suspended somehow. Waiting for it to be over with.

On top of that I have weird food cravings and repulsions. For a while I would only eat tuna sandwiches. Then I got turned off tuna and would only eat fruits. This week I'm finally able to eat proper meals again. Interestingly, I did not lose any weight at all. Must be all the sugar in the fruits.

Anyway, why the long story? Well, it's to "justify" why I have only managed to make a few items for my next craft market this weekend. Do you agree that I often come up with such elaborate excuses to explain my laziness? But rest assured my mind and heart were willing.

Today I want to show you the three items I made from this fabulous Flights of fancy fabric Mandy gave me. In my opinion, this fabric has everything I love in a fabric. Birds, flowers, leaves, butterflies, dragonflies and post office stamp. If I were to design a fabric, that's more or less the ingredients for me.

I thought this fabric looked so fantastic on the shoulder bag. It looks so cheery, doesn't it?  Inside are two pockets, one of which is zipped. I hadn't made zip pockets for quite a while and initially I thought I had forgotten how to make one. But it seems it's like riding a bike, though some of you might disagree! (I'm getting a good giggle thinking most of you would disagree)

Next I made a pleated wristlet. Hubs says the fabric print hides the pleats. Generally I dislike pleats on zippers due to the bulk. But I had this amount of fabric and I just didn't want to have like 2 inches of fabric gone to waste.

I couldn't resist making a zip pouch as well. Honestly, making zip pouches is quite therapeutic.

This weekend's craft market will be my last one for a while as I plan to take a break. So if you want to buy something from me, do come down to Vivocity on 27th or 28th July. Details below.

My next craft market at Vivocity

Hello,

Guess what? I have another craft market at Vivocity, Singapore this weekend. Yes, I know. Hubs was saying, didn't you just write a post-mortem for the one last weekend? So sad. So so sad. I almost feel like I've sold myself to the Vivocity craft market.

This week was a very short week for me. Oh yes. Just a few days to sew new stuff for my market. It was a tough week as well as June school break was over and it was back to school for the kids. And you know what that means. Right, wake up at bloody 6am. Our sleep pattern was totally wacky. I had been sleeping late and waking up late and on Monday I only had 3 hours sleep before waking up. Since it was the first day, I felt like superman and thought I could do it. We even went to see White House Down which is not a bad movie. (Hubs cried a few times.) When I reached home, I crashed badly. Tuesday, I managed to get 4 hours of sleep before 6am came. Sometime in the afternoon, I crashed. If you're wondering what I mean by crash, in layman terms it means nap soundly. Btw, I just woke up from another crash.

In between all these crashes, I told myself maybe I should just forget about making new items for the craft market After all, why kill myself for a craft market. But you know me. I squeezed three items out of myself. Somehow. I know they're not much but at least you can say I tried.

These are the three items I made.

I made the shoulder bag using the newspaper print first.

Same shoulder bag, a teensy bigger but with a different print. Remember the fabric I had for the giveaway? I saved 1 yard's worth for myself.

Absolutely love this print. It has line drawing which is just my thing. I couldn't resist making it into a large wristlet.

I'm really looking forward to next week because I badly need 1 week off sewing. After that I have to sew for my next craft market which is on 27th and 28th July. And finally after that, I'm taking a longer break to work on other projects.

So if you're in Singapore, swing by VivoCity. I'm giving discounts!!! Not for the 3 items I made this week though. I mean, they're fresh off the sewing machine, amirite? But everything else, yes.

So you'll come? Promise?

Once you go big

Friends,

Once you go big, you'll never be able to make a "normal size" zip pouch again. I forgot to use something for sizing when I took the pics earlier but trust me when I say this zip pouch is big.

This is the last item I made for my weekend craft market. I could have made a few more items but I went swimming yesterday and that's like one day's worth of "work" to me. And this morning, my nose allergy was triggered so I don't feel like working anymore. I might even do the price tagging at Vivocity...

Anyway, I showed hubs the flapper girl zip pouch I made and he said:

I have no idea what it is but I want it!

Hopefully, I get the same reaction at the market.

Friday Ketchup No. 5

This week went by super fast again.

I sewed nothing even though my hand got better. I did practice my drawing though. Mostly on photoshop elements. I had this idea of showing one drawing per week but it's weird to just randomly show a drawing. Oh, I find that as I grow older, I'm not as good at picking up software. Thank goodness I gave birth to a daughter who grew up to love photoshop and learns intuitively. Now if I need help, I just call out, "Girl, what happened to the colour palette?" or "Girl, my image disappeared!" and she runs over and rescues me.

We saw Iron Man 3. I got super pissed that the 3D glasses we had to pay $2 for were for tiny heads. Stupid Cathay Cinema! And I have a freakishly large head. And I wear glasses. So I had to wear my larger glasses over the tiny 3D glasses. Which made it very uncomfortable. Finally I perched the tiny 3D glasses over my glasses and managed to watch the movie this way even though it made me arch my neck. I need to get my own personal 3D glasses. Seriously. The movie is quite entertaining. Of course my girl found it waaay more entertaining because she's so into it. At the end of the movie, she made us sit through the credits just to see if there was any bonus clips. Yes, there was!

Managed to go to the swimming pool again. Thing is, I couldn't find my goggles from the last swim. Searched everywhere. So I took a chance and went to the lost & found at the pool hoping someone had found my goggles. The crew showed me a pair of goggles and it looked like my goggles but hubs said it wasn't mine. So I had to buy a new pair at the sports shop next to the pool which cost a fortune. Later when we were home, hubs looked up at the kitchen ceiling and found my other pair of goggles hung up high. I guess I wanted a SAFE PLACE. So now I have two goggles! Why are SAFE PLACES always so forgettable? Oh, we managed to get the wave pool and seriously folks, I got knocked down by one big wave and immediately hurt my right elbow. I really thought it was the end for me but false alarm. Just a small bruise. Oh, I saw a bunch of preschool kids learning to swim at the pool and why are preschoolers in swimming costumes learning to swim so darn cute?

These two zip pouches were made last week, I think. I haven't made these kind of zip pouches for a very long time. It's really nice to re-visit old designs once in a while. Next week is my vivocity craft market. Okay, I'm supposed to refer to it as Path market at Vivocity from now on. I don't have a whole lot of stock for the market but it's okay. I'm not going to stress over it. This weekend I hope to make a couple more items. Have a great weekend folks!

Where did March go?

I wanted to start my post by saying "it's all slowly coming back to me..." but honestly, it's not. However much I tried, I cannot figure out why March flew by and I'm a little frightened that the next time I check the calendar, it'll be Christmas. I know I haven't produced as much stock as I wanted. I have many items on my to-do list.

I know that one of the reasons I did not produce much was my right hand had to heal. I've learnt my lesson and I'm taking better care of my hands. I've bought gloves and I use them.

Another reason is that I really struggled with my non-creative life. Little things kept cropping up that needed my attention or brought me such despair that I could not give any attention to my creations. I wish I could separate my non-creative life from my creative life but it's not possible. I'm after all one person.

The last reason I can think of is my health. I have been suffering from headaches and migraines on and off throughout the first three months. I think if I want to be serious about getting rid of my head pain, I need to re-look my diet and stop eating food that could trigger the pain.

Having said all these, I am determined to fix my problems. Next month which is just 2 days away, I plan to really make a change and hopefully see results.

This weekend I'm emerging from my "cave" and venturing out to VivoCity to sell my bags and pouches again. It is good to go out and sell and be active. When I stay home all the time, I find my world becomes very small and it's all about me, me, me.

Maybe I've rested far too long. I feel a little nervous as selling at VivoCity has never been smooth sailing for me. Always a few hiccups here and there. Plus if I remember correctly, the last market was very quiet. I guess I won't know the outcome until it's over.

On Tuesday I did a stock take and I noticed that I had ONE iPhone zip pouch left. Yesterday I finally decided I would make a few more. What I like about my iPhone zip pouches is they use very little fabric. A good way to use up my remnants.

This is my favourite. I used Junichi Nakahara print. You can check out his stuff here. I have very little of this fabric left.

These two fabric has pseudo cross stitch print. I bought the fabric from Spotlight. I only bought a tiny amount. Hubs said he doesn't like these 2 prints. Good thing he's not a girl.

And this is the last bits from Red Rose Farm fabric. A lot of bedsheets in the old days had huge roses prints like this one.

Are you salivating over my iPhone zip pouches? You can make your own too. It only takes an hour the first time. Go here to buy the ePattern.

Get Up & Go Go

Hi friends,

I believe most of you have blog friends? When I first started blogging in 2007, the concept of blog friends was rather alien to me. In fact, I only started leaving comments on blogs I read after encouragement from me hubs. I cannot point you to the first blog post I left my first comment on as the blog has closed. I was just beginning to sew bags in those days and I left a comment to tell the blogger that I had used her tute to sew a little zip pouch. For days, I worried over the comment. I wondered if the blogger had read it. Did anyone else read it? Was I too cheesy? And so on. Yes, kinda paranoid like would the comment police come to my door?

I did not leave any more comments after that as it took a lot of courage to leave the first one. For those of you who are seasoned "commenters", it really was not easy for me.

Much to my surprise, a while later, the blogger emailed me to tell me she liked how my zip pouch turned out and wanted to feature it on her blog. I was shocked and horribly flattered. I had not expected any contact from the blogger. It totally changed the way I viewed blogging. The interaction was so pleasant and invigorating. And might I say, addictive.

Being featured on her blog also changed something else. People started reading my blog. In the beginning, it was just me, my family and the occasional reader who stumbled on my blog. I think this blogger was rather popular because for a few years, I would get a lot of traffic from her blog. I was quite sad when she closed her blog.

Well, I became less afraid of leaving comments as I went along and before long, I actually made a few blog friends. One blog friend in particular, Antmee she's had a pretty big impact on my life though I'm not sure if she's even aware.

I think I told you guys how I wanted to start my ePattern business in 2009 but I could not get going. I had so many issues - hardware, software, lack of confidence, shyness. You name it. Then in end 2010, I told Antmee about my pdf patterns and she agreed to try the first ePattern. I think she went beyond trying. She gave me very good suggestions and her opinion which I value. I gained a lot of confidence from her feedback. Still I did not launch it till mid 2011 as I wanted to use a better software.

As you know, I've already launched 3 of my ePatterns. For my last ePattern for this year, I turned to Antmee once again and as always, she's a fabulous blog friend. I think I'm very lucky to meet her. Thank you, my friend.

My dear readers, I present to you my Get Up & Go Go Sling Bag. I know, what a ridiculous name. I ripped it off Wham!'s Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.

This is a bag that every woman should own. It's a good size to keep your essentials. A zipper to lock everything in and a cool sling so you can carry it crossbody.

What else? No raw seams. (I'm still unable to make bags with the seams exposed)

Plus a pleated bottom.

Anyone has an Etsy account? Please do me a big favour and go heart it or buy it. HERE. ♥♥♥

Lastly, I'm doing a Black Friday Etsy and Cyber Monday Etsy promotion. So all my ePatterns are at a special price of US$5 each. From now till 30 Nov 2011.

Some of you are celebrating Thanksgiving this week? Hope you enjoy it. And happy shopping too. All the best to everyone who owns shops and having sales. Me hubs says he'll be raiding Amazon on Cyber Monday. See you in a while.

I have wristlets coming out of my ears

Hello my friends,

I sweated through another week. Actually I drank through another week. Cartons and cartons of cranberry juice which me hubs is constantly stocking the fridge with. It seems when I get really hot and humid, the only drink that will quench my thirst is cranberry juice. This heat is proving to be very expensive for me.

Hey, Singapore was spotted again. I'm sure you've read about the phone hacking scandal involving the News of the World. At the parliamentary hearing, Rupert Murdoch said:

Singapore is the most open and clear society in the world...where every minister gets at least a million dollar a year....and there is no temptation...and it's the cleanest society you'll find anywhere.
Let me just say this. As a Singaporean, I've never felt more embarrassed. I wanted to dig a hole and bury myself in it. We are certainly not the most open and clear society in the world. And that million dollar paycheck? People resent it. I think Mr M doesn't know this but the million dollar salary is being reviewed in response to public unhappiness as I write. Tik tok.

This week I made 8 wristlets. I wasn't feeling particularly creative. How could I? It's too hot to even think. I went thru' my archives and came up with familiar applique and embroidery.

Remember my big ole flower? This one's on very stiff denim. I must remember never to buy this denim. It's too stiff for my liking.

Ah, the rabbit returns!

And so does the butterfly.

3 hearts. How many ways can you place hearts?

Right. The heart balloons again.

I kinda like tulips now.

Flower flower.

Houses embroidery is still my favourite thing to do.

I'll be selling these wristlets next weekend at a craft show. Tell you guys more later. See you soon.

faster than the speed of light not!

Dear readers,

Ever since my home was wired for fibre optic transmission, we had been excited to upgrade our broadband to the speed of light.

Anyone still using dial-up? My dear, this is the 21st century. Write to your member of parliament, or mayor or town leader. I dunno. Who do you call when your internet access is one century behind?

My apologies. Please don't mind me. I'm just feeling very smug because we have 100mbps! Getting hooked up to 100mbps was not as easy as I thought.

First 3 very old guys came to connect the cables. My home is one of those really odd flats which has all the wiring hidden inside the ceiling. It's called concealed wiring. It's not a good thing. Contractors hate to do anything related to wiring in my home. As you can see from the image above, the fibre optic cables couldn't be concealed as that would require removal of my ceiling. Ah, the price you pay for the speed of light. Luckily, we are quite messy people. So the plastic thingy running all over my home doesn't really bother us.

This is the magic black box aka modem. There is another box but it's at the other end of the room. With our new plan, we get free subscription for the residential phone. The catch? We have to convert from our analog phone line to a digital phone line. We went for it. The catch? The power to the magic boxes must be ON all the time. In the event of a power failure, we have to reset the phone line. This we discovered by accident. Which is a little tedious. Which we weren't told beforehand. Dem you Singtel!

Then we became obsessed with testing the internet connection. Much to our dismay, it fluctuates. That means, we don't get 100mbps all the time. Sometimes we get 40, 50, 60. In fact, we've never ever gotten 100. And we're paying for 100mbps. Oh wait, it says maximum speed is 100mbps. Dem you Singtel!

You know what happens when you get a giant monitor followed by 2 monitors, followed by 100mbps? You want a faster computer.

Right. Looks like a new CPU is on our To Purchase list. This family's Great Singapore Sale budget is seriously busted.

Looks like I'm back to making iPhone zip pouches with my skulls fabric. Well, these are for my next ePattern - iPhone 4 zip pouches. And I've given it a lot of thought. Putting these on the cover of my ePattern will surely scare customers away!

See for yourself. I took this photo when it got dark and look how creepy the pouches look.

See you real soon.

What June 2011 Brought

It's June already and it's the school holidays in Singapore. But my kids have a very busy schedule and it's worse than school days because there's no routine. I keep track of where everyone has to be by marking on the calendar. But I tell you, there have been a few near misses. I honestly can't wait for school days to start.

Usually I would be busy going out to craft markets to sell my stuff during the school holidays. But this year, I seem to have difficulty finding good places to sell. I'm so avoiding places which charge high rent and it seems rent keeps going up! Anyhoo, rather than stressing over selling enough to make rent, I decided I would just stay home. And focus on improving my skills in photography and photo editing.

Remember my tatted lace? I made it into a zip pouch. Do I make too many zip pouches? I really like my simple boxed bottom zip pouch. It's wide enough for a big wallet and basic essentials. I like the idea of matching lace with denim. It's a perfect match. Soft with rough.

I've been selling my items on Etsy for a while now and it seems I never paid attention to Etsy's preferred size for photos for the front photo. I've done some homework and for this front pic, I used 1000 X 1000 pixels and I do believe it makes a big difference. I don't know why I didn't bother before. I used to wonder why my photos get cropped horribly. Well, now I do. I've listed this pouch and you can go here to see the difference. If you want to read what Etsy recommends, go here.

For this iPhone zip pouch, I forgot that for a front photo, I have to use landscape. If you use portrait, your image will be cropped by Etsy. The sun has died on me so I had to make do with what I have. I have listed this pouch on Etsy and you can go here to take a look.

Me hubs says the fabric I used is very cheena. (Chinese) Honestly, when I look at the fabric, I don't think it's Chinese at all. I think it's very romantic. But that's just me. Deep down I really love fabric with flowers but it seems liking flower-flower fabric is not cool. But that's a secret between us, okay? I'm in the process of making a few more flower-flower items. Hope me hubs doesn't get a heart attack.

Just before school ended, my son's teacher reminded us that one homework due when school reopened was giving an opinion of 4 required books. Of course I almost had a heart attack. Hunting down the books took me a while as the library did not stock that many copies. Now the hard part - reading them. Part of my duty as a mom is to read the English books my son has to read. I decided to start with the thinnest book.

I read this book on the train. I know this book won awards and all but it was boring to me. I really forced myself to read it. I'm just glad it was a thin book.

On the other hand, I could not put Prey down. I'm a huge fan of Michael Crichton and he is such a good story teller. And no, this is not one of the required text my son had to read.

Yesterday was a good day for me. I went shopping with my BFF. Yes, I have a BFF. She's not a blogger so I can't link to her. I rarely get to see her so it was a treat. When we were students, we often wondered if we would grow old together and still be friends years and years later. I'm really happy that here we are with kids and all and literally growing old together.

What else did June bring? Ah yes, last Sunday, Singapore flooded. Again. I am old enough to have lived through the years when flooding in Singapore was common due to poor drainage. The drains were fixed and only very low lying areas were flooded. Since last year, it seems something changed and flooding started happening in places which had either never flooded before or not flooded for a very long time. Okay, I'm not an engineer so I don't know how the drains system works. But I wonder if it is a result of urbanization. Everytime Singapore flooded, I feel ashamed. Listening to the feeble explanations and excuses. And no, rain does not cause flooding. Because if it does, everywhere will be flooded everytime it rains. Just saying.

Hoo Goes There?

Hellooo,

Isn't it nice to just sit back and read blogs like usual and not have to enter in all the giveaways? I've won nothing. Have you?

The past few days, I've been in the midst of my epic journey through The Land Of The Owls. I've come to learn that most folks LOVE owls and owls and cute are tightly associated. So it's just me then with the creepy feeling from real owls. Just as I am slowly conquering my fear of heights, I am surely taking small steps towards not being afraid of owls.

So I've been pre-occupied with embroidering my owls. Yes, this is how I conquer my fear.

First up, as threatened, I made an owl wall organizer.

It's mostly just running lines for each of the 3 panels. It took a very long time mostly because I made the bias binding myself and when sewing it to the organizer, I did it the traditional way - by hand. This is my first wall organizer. Does it look weird? Me hubs says it looks "interesting weird".

I'm thinking this is one possible use for the organizer - sorting out your mail.

I made another owl zip pouch. This one is quilted. I call it "Caged Owls". Usually, for my bags and pouches, I have the showy bit on one side only. But for this pouch, I did it on both sides.

This is the other side and the owl is "caged" as well.

Here's the boxy bit. In case you're interested, "caged owls" simply reflect my fear of owls. Geddit? I'm the one who's in the cage. Caged by my own fear. So deep! Don't worry. Deep down I just like pretty stuff.

Next on my to-do list is another Amy Butler Sew-Along.

Some Singapore news. Remember the body in the water tank story? Well, residents were rather uneasy about drinking water from their tap after the incident. I mean, wouldn't you? One question: How long would it take you to go back to using the water from the tap if you were in the affected resident's position? (touch wood) Me? I would move. Btw, thanks to those of you who told me where your water came from. It was certainly informative.

Well, the member of parliament of the affected residents resorted to drinking water from the affected tap to lead by example. But the residents were too pissed to buy it. So finally it was decided the affected water tank(s) would be replaced. It will neither be cheap nor easy.

More news related to the Singapore Election, sort of. One issue which kept popping up during the election and carried on with a life of its own is the ministerial pay. I don't know the exact amount of pay the ministers get this year. But based on a 2009 figures, an entry-grade minister received an annual salary of SGD$1.57 million. The Prime Minister's salary that year was SGD$3.04 million. Staggering, right? What most locals cannot buy is how much more a Singapore junior minister earns compared to President Obama!

Singaporean's unhappiness with the ministerial pay has been around for a very long time. Surprise! Last Sunday, the Prime Minister announced a formation of a committee to review the pay. Whatever the outcome of the review and however small the pay cut is, I believe it is still better than nothing.

This Thing Called Love

As you may already be aware, Valentine's Day is coming. If you're not aware, then you must live on a mountain (with internet access) or in a boat (with internet access). Okay, I don't know what it's like in other countries because I live in a very small world (with internet access) but here in Singapore, Valentine's Day is widely celebrated commercially. A few days ago, I was at a mall and there were all kinds of incredible gifts sold as Valentine's Day gifts. I was totally sold and would have bought myself a bouquet of tiny teddy bears if it weren't so bloody overpriced.

So! I'll be selling my bags at red dot design museum this weekend and seeing how Valentine's Day is Monday which is the day after this weekend, I somehow expected to see some Valentine's Day theme in the MAAD program? Nope, nothing on LOVE. Which brings the topic back to moi. Did I make anything specially for Valentine's Day? Well, yes and no. I didn't want to do a heart applique thingy and all my bags are potential gifts one could buy for a loved one. hehehehe

So, are you one of those people who celebrates Valentine's Day? Well, that is, if you have someone to celebrate with. Do you even care about Valentine's Day? Do you feel horrible on that day if you don't get any LOVE?

Well, I asked me hubs if we're doing Valentine's Day and he said,
But we agreed we wouldn't do it. We agreed.
I guess I must have agreed. So, no. I didn't get any CK underwear for me hubs. Hope I don't get surprised on Monday because I really, really didn't get any CK underwear for me hubs.

All these talk about LOVE might get some of you um...depressed? So here's a little story to cheer you up. A long, long, long time ago, when I was maybe 16? A boy I knew decided to matchmake me with his friend. It was Valentine's Day and I was invited to a community club for something something. Now, you understand that until I was 21, I had very little understanding of the concept of dating or boy-girl thing. I was blur like sotong. If I was invited out for a meal, it meant I got a free meal. If I was invited to a movie, it meant I got a free movie. It never occurred to me it was a date!

So this boy, let's call him Diamond (actually his real name) decided to gift his best friend a date with blur Jane. And Diamond decided the best day to matchmake us was on Valentine's Day on a Saturday night. Except he failed to inform me of his little scheme. So suddenly I found myself the centre of this hulky looking boy's attention. Let's call him Johnny (actually his real name). And we all, I think 6 of us piled into Diamond's dad's car and drove to this community club.

Apparently there was a Valentine's Day thing going on at the club with drinks and food. (free food and drinks)  But the big event was a FREE STYLE DANCE COMPETITION which dear Johnny wanted to participate in.
You dance?
I asked Johnny eyeing his incredibly hulky body. You know the kind where inside is a puny body and he does like a thousand body building exercises every day and it grew to this hulky proportion. Yes, that kind.

Anyhoo, Johnny went to do the registration details and how this competition worked was the DJ would play some random music and call out a number (in sequential order) and the participant would just jump right in the spotlight and dance his butt out.

So it began. Man, it was impressive. The audience stood in a circle and the numbers were called and one by one these really, really incredible dancers dressed up in like in America's Got Talent kind of costume danced these slick moves inside the circle. Me and my surprise Valentine's date Johnny-boy stood side by side to watch. Then came number 9. The DJ called:
Number 9.
Number 9.
This went on for a long, long time. The DJ just kept on calling for number 9 and no one jumped in to dance. Finally I said real loud:
Number 9 chickened out!

Yes, you figured it out. Our Johnny-boy was number 9. He disappeared from the club for a very, very long time. And it didn't occur to me he was number 9 until every number was called and he didn't jump in to dance.

Anyhoo, we all went home later and Johnny-the-brave recovered sufficiently to walk me to my door. Before leaving, he gave me this ginormous Valentine's Day card. Okay, you know how in movies it's often protrayed how when a boy likes a girl the girl is flattered even tho' she's not into him? Well, that's not how it worked with me. If I even get a hint anyone is interested in me and I'm not into that person? I get nauseous. Violently nauseous.

Back to the card. Yes, it was a funny card and at that time, I was crazy about cards and had a huge card collection. So, to me, I got a card.

Days later, I ran into Johnny and Diamond below my flat and of course to me it meant I ran into them. What a coincidence. Then I kept running into them and finally one day Diamond realised I wasn't getting the message about the matchmaking and told me point-blank:
Johnny likes you!
I went completely drama and did this violent vomiting act to demonstrate just how much that repulsed me. Of course I was a complete idiot and did not realise poor Johnny was right behind me awaiting the good news. But at least it put an end to the stalking.

I wish that was the end of the sad story which I'm telling you to help you overcome your depression. A couple of years later, I was going thru' my card collection and I looked at the massive Valentine's Day card and realised that the main card on the front was an insert and had fallen out. That's when I saw the message written at the BACK of the insert.
I love you.

OMG. I seriously felt awful. And violently nauseous.

Now let me introduce you to 3 items I made yesterday.
Something nautical.

Another giant zip organiser.
Lastly, an Earthy Flower-flower One Wooden Ring Shoulder Bag. The fabric is from Kiyohara, now my fave brand.

Have a good weekend.
