Second week of our special challenge & blog hop!

Hi everyone, we hope you are all surviving the bitterly cold weather we’re having at the moment.  Most parts of the country seem to have seen a little snow over the weekend – we’re sure you’ll agree that it’s perfect weather for crafting!!

We just wanted to remind you that the special challenge and blog hop is running for another week so you have until 7th December to get all your entries in.  Judging by the entries we’ve had already you all seem to be loving the “old & new” theme of our challenge.

Don’t forget you can enter as many times as you like (as long as you use your promarkers or aqua markers) and make a new card/project each time, so the more chances you’ll have to win our fantastic prizes.  If you are taking part in the blog hop please leave a separate comment for the “mystery” word and then we can keep it hidden until the challenge ends!!

Here is a reminder of the wonderful prizes you can win courtesy of our very generous sponsors:

Letraset are offering a full set of Aqua Markers to one lucky winner *woohoo*.

Whilst taking part in the blog hop just leave them a little comment and your name will be placed in the draw (so as you can see lots of chances to win a prize).

We hope you will have lots of fun again this week and can’t wait to see your creations.

Hugs, Denise, Gina & DT x x

Week 79 – a special challenge!

Good morning crafters, we have a special challenge and blog hop for you for the next two weeks. We are celebrating the return of our design team 1 and saying adieu to design team 2. We couldn’t let this pass without a little celebration could we? Before we announce all the details (and this is going to be a long post) we would like to say a big thank you for all your gorgeous entries for Sue C’s “stitching and distressing” challenge, which proved to be very popular. Check back later to find out the lucky winner of the £10.00 voucher courtesy of Stampeezee and to see who Sue C has chosen as her top 5 passionista.

Ok I hope you all have a cuppa and a biscuit ‘cos we have lots to share with you this week.

Unfortunately some of our old design team members are unable to return so we have some new faces to introduce:

Gro

Nic (Coops)

Vix

We hope you will make them feel welcome, as they are all a little nervous, but as you will see their work is gorgeous.

Our challenge theme for the next two weeks is “old & new” i.e. a brand new stamp/digi with old papers etc. Please can you tell us your old and new items in your post. Don’t forget to use your promarkers or aqua markers to be included in our prize draw.

We have lots of lovely sponsors for this challenge, so definitely worth trying your luck!

During the blog hop we also have a “mystery” phrase for you to collect and we will also be drawing a random winner from all the correct answers. At the end of the blog hop come back to the challenge blog and leave your answer. We would love you to enter a card for our challenge and leave the mystery phrase but its not essential, you don’t have to enter our challenge to be eligible for the mystery phrase prize. You can enter as many times as you like (more chances to win) but it must be with a new card/project and newly blogged – no back-linking please.

As we’ve mentioned this challenge will last for two weeks and ends at 9am on 7th December 2010, so plenty of time to complete the blog hop and make your card (or cards). Unfortunately we will not be choosing a top 5 passionista for the blog hop challenge as we will be busy sorting out all our prize winners.

We really hope you enjoy our blog hop and look forward to seeing all your gorgeous cards.

Hugs, Denise, Gina & DT x x

PLEASE NOTE - Leave the mystery phrase in the comments box and if you are making a card as well you can leave 2 comments, one for your card and one for the phrase and you get another chance of winning :) xxx

The whole team would like to thank you all for entering and for all your lovely comments, and we hope you had as much fun as we did.
So without further ado, we’d like to announce the lucky winner of a complete set of 56 new colour promarkers is........................................
*****Julie*****

Congratulations Julie, you are now the proud owner of all 56 new promarkers, just email me with your address and she’ll send you out your prize.
We also had 11 mini prizes, each of the DT were offering 1 new colour promarker plus their blog hop card. So pop along to their blogs to check and see if you’re a winner.
Please note, all prizes must be claimed by Tuesday 22nd September or they will be re-drawn.
Now back to business, this week we are showing you some more blonde tutorials this week, Michele and yours truly have shown you how we colour blonde hair.
******************
Blonde Hair Tutorial - Michele
This is my preference of colours to use for colouring blonde hair Ivory, Pastel Yellow, Gold and Cinnamon.
image
The image I've used is stamped onto white Data Copy Colour Printing paper 160gsm using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
First of all, I go all over the hair in small circular motions using the colour Ivory.
image Then using very light strokes, I use Pastel Yellow
image
Now with the Gold ProMarker pen, go over the hair where you think it would be darker. Again using very light strokes.
image
Next I use the colour Cinnamon, where I think the hair would be darker.
Here's a little tip for you - don't throw away pens if they are running out.
I find these perfect for colouring hair, especially the darker colours.
image
Now with the Ivory ProMarker go over the whole of the hair using small circular motions.
image
Here is the image again fully coloured in.

Blonde Hair Tutorial – Gina
This is my take on blonde hair, I have used Anya Snuggle and inked her with memento ink onto IQ paper.
25082009610
I started off using Primrose and covered the whole area of hair, I usually do a couple of coats just to get the ink into the paper and I find it blends better this way
25082009611
I then added Vanilla to the roots of her hair and the parts which I think are darkest, I do think that this is the hardest part deciding where is darkest, so I always do the roots the ends of the hair and then any where that hits an edge, i.e from a bow. I then go over the whole area again with the Primrose this blends in some of the Vanilla used
25082009612
I then moved on to Pastel Yellow, and again do the darkest areas but this time I use less than I did of the Vanilla, again I go over the whole area with Primrose
25082009613
I then go over the darker areas again to give it more depth but be careful not to overdo the darker areas as it will be harder to correct, once you are happy go over with the Primrose again just to blend in :)
25082009614
Hope that is of some help, like I always say the best way to learn is to practice yourselves and if you want to show us how you do it just drop us an email :)
Hugs Gina xxx

Welcome to our first Blog Hop!

****Blog Hop Now Closed, come back tomorrow to see the lucky winner :)****
Welcome to our first blog hop! to celebrate the launch of 56 new colours of ProMarkers from Letraset. The DT were lucky enough to get hold of the new markers at the end of last week and we have been working hard (well playing actually lol!) to create some inspirational samples for you to see what can be achieved with them.
In case you've never taken part in a blog hop before we would like to briefly explain what you need to do. Firstly you do not have to make anything to enter, so NO ProMarkers needed for this one! After reading this post you will then be directed to visit each member of the design team's personal blogs and will need to leave a comment to show you've stopped off. You will also find a word at each blog which you need to make a note of and then after visiting all the blogs you will have found a complete phrase. You will then need to return to the main blog and leave a comment here telling us the phrase you have found.
We would also like you to add a link and a picture of the prize on your sidebar so that as many people as possible know that the blog hop is happening!
The blog hop will last from 10am on Sunday until 9pm on Thursday and the winner will be announced in Friday's Weekend Workshop. Now for the exciting bit - the lucky winner, who will be drawn at random from the correct phrases, will win a whole set of 56 new colour ProMarkers kindly donated by Letraset. WOW what an amazing prize - I bet you're all eager to get going now!!
09092009648
Ok here are the blogs in the order for you to visit starting with -
Now we are turning the comments off so you can not all cheat but we will keep you updated on how many have entered at the bottom on this post. Only comments for the prize will be hidden, so you are more than welcome to leave a comment now :)
The first blog you need to visit is Caryn's and she will then direct to the next blog and so on. As a little extra incentive the DT are also offering a small prize on their blogs too. So what are you waiting for?
Hugs, Gina, Denise & Design Team x x
**Please leave your finished sentence in the comments box, you will not be able to see it so there is no cheating but you will be entered, feel free to leave another comment without the sentence, this will be shown :) Thank you **
Number entered so far 310
