fyeahmetal I'm happy that others have taken up the noir jazz flag put up so splendidly by Bohren & der Club of Gore and Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble. Unlike the rubato feel of those groups, Trigg & Gusset offer a steadier backbeat - are the drums programmed? - and weave in electronics, reminding me of, say, Kruder & Dorfmeister gone dark and brooding. Whatever the recipe is, the results are lovely, especially the string textures. Favorite track: Ominous Clouds.
