Minutes just to midnight Showered in the starlight In my neck of the woods I can see real good, oh and I can hear real good I try, try to understand A balance and a structure of a plan Habits, they’re supplied and in demand Action and consequence, consequence, consequence Ya know I don’t like to lose my cool Like I’ve been known to do Quick hands and a short fuse Left me cold outside with the wild eyed emotional wreckage blues I try, try to understand A balance and a structure of a plan Habits, they’re supplied and in demand Action and consequence Consequence when it don’t feel right Consequence when you got no sight Consequence when the shadows grow and creep into the light Gonna be alright Til the moon gets low and the sun goes down Til the house gets built on the edge of the town I’m alive I’m alive it’s a wonderful time I’m alive and alive and alive Girl I want to love you Yeah, I want to love you It’s all I wanna do

Forty Miles 03:12
Forty miles that’s all it takes to get to Baltimore Four different kinds of medical grade in my top drawer It’s alright lift me up just like a bird in flight I don’t mind I got a reason and I got a right So just sit me right down on the couch and figure it out It feels like a whole damn year since I left this house Best friend of mine took a fall and he can’t be found Sunlight beaming on the window The big hand’s moving oh so slow You never really know what you came for until it’s time to go Get in the car put it in drive and put the pedal to the floor Pay no mind to capital gains or being broke on tour Well you want some more I want my muse to be heard by you It’s all I all I ever really wanted to do Is make people feel good even when they’re feeling so down Try and help out with a thought and a wonderful sound Best friend of mine took a fall and he can’t be found Shadows creeping on the pavement Fall it fell and then winter went Spring it sprung and now summer’s making me sweat Sudden death and a life worth living A Brother gone and a debt forgiven Still around but now you’re hidden I won’t forget it goes on and on Body gone but the spirit moves

Worried for the future while you’re sippin’ on a cup of doubt Pour a little sugar on it sweeten this bitterness out Before I lose composure before I start to cuss and shout Every singing soul is in a battle for a different war Before you pull that arrow back be certain what you’re aiming for Oh how am I to focus when every day there’s more and more Down with this omen down with this curse Is it getting better or is it getting worse Hand to the heart head to the soul I won’t get down, like I did before I won’t get down, like I did before Pull this thing together don’t you understand Everyone must do what they can Oooooooh, do what cha can Can you paint a picture? or can you fill a journal to heal? It’s hard to know who you are, when everybody tells you what to feel Oh damn this indecision the status quo ain’t shaking no deals Down with this omen down with this curse Is it getting better or is it getting worse Hand to the heart head to the soul Well I won’t Get down, like I did before No I won’t Get down like I did before No I won’t Get down like I did before No I won’t Get down like I did before Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

Feel the pain in my shoulder Tiny holes where they cut me When it rains I’m in pain But in the sun I’m free Both sides of the river Both songs I can sing Hear the bells of redemption Go on and let them ring Time waits for no one Fools bury their hearts away Cold rain on the window Cold fingers on strings Cold feelings in the world outside Or at least it seems But I know there's a heat source Running through everyone Every sister and mother Every father and son Time waits for no one Fools bury their hearts away Life ain’t always fun But the shadows are still part of the light Time don’t wait no Time don’t wait no

I was born to be wild I was born to be wild We were raised to be brave We've been raised to be brave I climbed up and I fell down I climbed up and fell down I got used and pushed around We got bruised and we got broken Left caught up in the old system We got tied and we got twisted Ya know it always takes one more lesson learned To feel the heart of life It takes a little bit of your sacrifice It takes a little bit of belief Baby believe in me I was told to be bold I was told to be bold Not to wait till it’s too late Not to wait till I am great I get up and I get down I get up and I get down We get lost and then we get found I feel lost and I feel Tied enough to quit my trying Throw away these songs that I sing But then I know, it’s the only thing that keeps me sane To find the heart of life It takes a little bit of your sacrifice It takes a little bit of belief Baby believe in me, yeah When it snaps back with a thunderous clap All my friends, got my back When I think back just to where I’m at All I want is what I already have What I already have

Two cups in the morning Now go get on your way Go to these places that you’d love to go Say these things that you want to say Play the songs that you want to play That’s what you must do, I think To make it to the end Day to day and dust to dust Dust you will become again Stardust you will become again Not quite yet she said Dying not quite dead Throwing paper down the well Decide what to sell Two cups in the evening Two bottles of red wine Too much thinking is feeling like sinking These ladders are hard to climb These pathways are hard to find But that's what we must we must do, I think To make it to the end Day to day and dust to dust Stardust we will become again Stardust we will become again One more song she said Hungry not quite fed Throwing paper at the wall , some sticks and some falls Such a sweet romance When the birds and the bees they dance Leave it all out on the floor Until there's no more

Dogs bark at morning light Too late to say good night There’s solace in your eyes All is forgiven We try to multiply From 2 add 3 get 5 Be kind and always strive to stay in the rhythm Be Cool be content With all this money spent The future has no end, this is the rhythm Put the bow to the fiddle Oh it’s so dependable, intangible and expandable Are we not incredible animals? And it goes Too high to realize Too smart to be unwise With confidence I try to kill cynicism Pardon this dissonance Who’s for and who’s against? Who’s happy show of hands? Clap to the rhythm Make music with em Oh it’s so dependable intangible and expandable Are we not incredible animals? And it goes Catch karma it’s alive It’s sticky it’s a vibe Gets on your clothes like tide Sending a ripple Cool down and compromise This life is yours and mine Together energize This is the rhythm All is forgiven Oh it’s so dependable intangible and so flammable Are we not incredible animals? And it goes

By the time you hear this I hope things will be ok Friends may change trends will fade and in the end it’s all the same Worry what they do, don’t worry what they say Worry what they do, don’t worry I’ve come to find that all I hear is nothing but hear and say Tongue and cheek and mouths that leak Like factories in the bay Worry what they do, don’t worry what they say Worry what they do, don’t worry Cause it’s 1 for survival 1 for sustain 1 for rebuttal and 1 for refrain 2 steps in front of the other and again 3 steps forward 4 go back By the time you hear this, well there will be a new face to blame Another name in some other shame In the end it’s all the same Worry what they do, don’t worry what they say Worry what they do, don’t worry Now it’s 1 for survival 1 for sustain 1 for rebuttal and 1 for refrain 2 steps in front of the other and again 3 steps forward 4 go back

about

For "Minutes to Midnight" we returned to Steve Wright at Wrightway studios in Baltimore, Maryland
When we were ready with a package of new tunes we all thought fit together, we brought in our incredible friend and multi-instrumentalist Austin Day to play all the wonderful keys parts your hear on the record. "Worry What They Do" Features Derrick Michaels on Flute.
The album cover art is inspired by our studio date. April 8th, 2024. Where we all saw a wildly impressive solar eclipse from the sidewalk of the studio together! TURN IT UP. TELL A FRIEND, ENJOY.
