For their self-titled debut release, cold wave duo ((PRESSURES)) delivers an analog tour de force of high-speed sequences, sharp synthesizer melodies, and icy vocals. The opening track, “Casting Shadows”, is an accelerated pop elegy driven by raw bass lines and melancholy vocoders, while “Bizarre Times” and “Nothing ever” advance through the dystopian soundscape with militaristic precision and haunting vocals. The album culminates in the masterfully frigid “Abnormal”, a perfect alloy of detached vocals and arid drums finishing in a rain of cosmic drones.
