I am trying to decide on a Minwax stain for red oak flooring. I want a light neutral brown. I want to avoid bringing out too much red or yellow, but also don't want to go too dark. I am between Special Walnut and Provincial. Does anyone have any finished examples or advice on a neutral light brown? ...

I found the perfect products and stain combination for staining red oak hardwood floors if you want a beautiful medium-to-dark brown color.
We had the most difficult time finding lighter hardwood colors for red oak floors. I searched all over and got some good ideas from Pinterest. We wanted something lighter but didn’t like the way some grays made the floors look with more pink hues or with alot of variations. We ended up making our own and love the color. Duraseal 1/2 special walnut and 1/2 classic grey. Its a light mid tone color that made the floors more consistent with less variation.
