Here’s how I did it: flatten the air dry clay. Apply the mandala stencil and gently roll the clay again with the acrylic roller using two wooden sticks as depth guides so the clay slab is nice and equally flat. I then painted the mandala using acrylic paint and removed the stencil right away so the clay and the paint would not dry with the stencil on the clay. Within a minute or two the paint was dry enough that I could place the clay on the porcelain bowl to dry in the correct shape. And no need to worry, the clay does not stick to the bowl. Once the piece is dry, you can easily remove it from the bowl. What do you think of this trinket dish?
