Mallikajaan (Manisha Koirala) | Heeramandi
"... Mallikajaan wears an off-white French chiffon saree. The saree featured transparent rainbow tinted sequins and tonal silk floss thread chain stitch embroidery that rendered an all over geometric jaal of organic leaf forms. To give the saree a more graphic feel visually, it was edged with a black facing while the pallu had linear scalloped lines in the same tonal embroidery as the saree. The blouse was made using black mul-mul and a printed polka-dots lining. It featured an oxidised silver paisley (derived from a Mughal textile) on the sleeve while the neckline was gleaned from an Edwardian necklace. The embroideries were handcrafted using dabka, naqshi, sequins, pearls and semi-precious stones ..." (vintage clutch bag sourced from a specialist antiques dealer) IG @rimpleandharpreet
Bibbojaan (Aditi Rao Hydari) | Heeramandi
"Bibbojaan dons a vivid emerald hued French tulle saree ... The delicate was handcrafted with sequins, crystals and semi-precious stones and features floral artworks gleaned from a 1920s Parisian flapper dress and archival French lace fragments (possibly 19th century). It was paired with a hand embroidered beadwork and zardozi blouse which featured a tessellated pattern evocative of the resplendent plumage of Peacocks or Birds of Paradise rendered in striking shades of emerald and lapis-lazuli, derived from a vintage Art-Deco minaudière. The embroideries of the blouse were rendered using multi-hued beads, silk-floss threads, pearls and sequins and the ensemble was completed with a Chantilly lace petticoat. | @rimpleandharpreet via Instagram
