Would love the kitchen to be timeless, but also something that makes it unique. We like the idea of white cabinets with gold accents (but maybe the island can be a different color?), with tiled backsplash (i've included some examples below). Perhaps we can use the same backsplash for the tile around the fireplace in the kitchen...or is that too matchy? Love the look of white/grey marble countertops, but put off by the maintenacne/risk of staining...so perhaps granite or something more durable?
