CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD.

1 3/4 cups All purpose Flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Baking soda
1/2 cup solid shortening (Crisco)
1 cup mashed very ripe Bananas
2 Eggs, beaten
1 cup mini chocolate chip morsels
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt & backing soda. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture appears as course bread crumbs. Add eggs and bananas to dry mixture, stir until dry ingredients are moistened. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes in pan, remove and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
