Dress ca. 1825 (made) Artist/Maker Unknown Place of origin England (made) Lady's dress of pale blue silk. It has a high waist and tight sleeves reaching to the wrist. The short bodice is pleated at the front and round the bottom of the skirt are two narrow pointed flounces. There is a fragment of the same silk cut out for a collar. There is a linen lining to bodice and tape at neck for tying. The lower edge of skirt is padded. https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O359077/dress-unknown/

Ackermann's Repository Fashion Print from October 1810, Morning Dress. 9-1/4" x 5-1/2". Notches on right edge where the page was removed from the original volume. Normal yellowing of page due to age. Some foxing, mostly on reverse side. An original early fashion plate with hand colour. Ackermann's Repository of Arts which was a monthly periodical published between 1809 and 1829. The magazine covered a range of subjects and had much influence over English fashion of the Regency era.

Inspiration to this design I have found in Museum Collections and the best recreation is made in Silk Satin using a strengthening lining fabric. Silk Satin gives the fabric a nice glow and it can also be treated with rice water or similar to get more crispier surface.The weight of this fabric is adjusted with the shipping cost.
