Version 1.0

Inferred reserves are expected future additions to proved reserves in identified fields. This report presents uncertainty estimates for the 1995 inferred reserves values. The method to obtain the uncertainty estimates represents an application of the bootstrap theory and the algorithm used to calculate inferred reserves for the 1995 USGS assessment. The report contains data and method used for estimating inferred reserves; the bootstrap procedures applied to compute the confidence intervals, and the implications of uncertainty in inferred reserve estimates to energy policy analysis.
