No frosting for now

And I dont mean on a cake....lol

I couldnt find a frosting for the glass that I liked,
so for now it'll be frost-free  :)

I chose the white door handles
to change the look to more of a soft, coastal, shabby look
and Im happy with them
~

Im really enjoying the whites in my living room
and loving the whole "creating" part of it all!

And yet if you step into my kitchen you'll see a whole different look..
I've got some ideas for a few fun things to do in there too..
in due time..  :)
~

But for now Im still working on the living room..
its taking some time,
but in between working and family,
Im slowly making some progress.
This is a little white bench my momma had in her basement which I've adopted
and for now its in snuggling beside my chaise (which Bella, our scottie thinks is her chair) :)
and I've put some dried flowers
in an oversized pickle jar.
Im sure glad my hubby loves pickles..
because these jars are great to reuse!

And the little tray beside it was black and under my bathroom sink in a cupboard
until I rescued it and painted it the same colour as the corner unit and put some shells and candles in it.
I love it...I have a "thing" for hearts..
~
~

So the whole re-decorating process is slow, but sure
and I change things around alot ..
but its all coming together...

~
I didnt plan to have this photo of Audrey Hepburn here..
I was planning on putting a coastal print in this frame..
Its actually my daughters...
but  after having gone to Ikea and finding that they werent carrying the prints anymore
Im finding that Audreys' kind of grown on me..
I actually really, rather quite like it..
~
The same with the turquoise paint...
I loved it when i chose it, but when I painted the candleholders,
it was kind of shocking to me..
I had to really just let the colour grow on me too..
and I do like it..it just took a while for me to get used to it  :)
~
The nice part about it all is
that I really havent spent much on this living-room re-do..
mainly the paint for the walls and the paint for the furniture....
all the coastal items I've just been buying here and there
on summer trips..
and
now Im reaping the benefits of having just bought a few items that I really loved
here and there!
~
I stopped in at a favourite shop that I like yesterday,
but hadnt been to in quite a while
and I found this silk-screen type picture
and I fell in love..
Well needless to say I left the store with it!

I also found a beautiful throw for the couch
but didnt pick it up..
It'll go on my wish-list for now.... :)
~

Next..
decorate my mantel for fall..
nothing too much..
just simple...
less is more sometimes
~

Im off to get some rest....
blessings!!

Pleasant dreams my friends...

With all my heart...Deborah xoxo

My New Project!

My newest project
~
Its a  pine corner unit my dear friend gave me which belonged to his Mom..
(for this reason I shall treasure it even more)
I decided to paint it with a paint I found at Home Depot
which I actually saw in the childrens paint section

Its called "Timeless Tales" by Disney..
I just was really attracted to the softness of the colour..
kind of like sea-foam  :)

My son gave me the idea to frost the glass
and so thats what Im planning..
also I want to change the handles and give them a new look

Im heading over to Home Depot tomorrow after work
to see what they have...
and apparently Walmart has the frosted glass look stick-ons

I'll post it as soon as my little hands can get it finished!
Its already in the corner of my living room after having
been drying on the deck most of the evening..

I just get too excited about these things, and I cant wait to get them inside and in their place!
~

Until tomorrow then...good night my darlins"!

With all my heart...Deborah xoxo

7 things about me:

1. Im just a simple girl living in a place I call home in Northern Ontario, Canada.

3. I'm a follower and lover of Jesus. I've been loving Him for about 27 years..He's been loving me since forever. I'm overwhelmed by His love \0/

4. My oldest brother introduced me to blogging; for which I am so grateful. In doing so, I have met the most precious women and I hold each one of you close in my heart.

5. God gave me a dream one night and explained it to me as I waited on Him, and it opened up a whole new love in my life...Photography.  I believe it was always there; He just wanted me to enjoy it and explore it..and that.. I am now doing!

6. The things that I love to do are photography, home decor, read, journaling, travel, cooking, baking, sewing (mostly craft items these days..and hardly ever lately), shop, play with our 4 dogs, enjoy music.and more

7. Im so blessed and grateful for my sweet family..in whom I find my greatest joy..beginning with my heavenly Father who gave me life and all I hold so dear; my hubby, my children, my parents, my brothers and sisters, all my relatives, sweet friends..near and far.....I love every one of you..with all my heart xo

I'll pick a few blogs I read, although I have MANY, just can't list them all. I find new and amazing bloggers everyday and I am very blown away by all of the love and giftings I see in you. It was really hard to just pick 15. I wanted to show case several new ones too. Inspiration abounds! Please forgive me if you don't participate in these things.
