When "no special occasion" turn into a "special occasion"

Sister-to-sister phone chat
turned into a lets -meet -for- lunch date
a few days later.

We planned to meet at noon....
no special occasion...
just to be together and catch up in one anothers company.
Randomly, I phoned ahead and asked Momma & Dad
to grace us with their company too....
wanting to surprise my sister
with a visit with them too

Our "no special occasion"
becoming special.

Isn't it fun just to be on the
"friendship" level with our parents?!

Just lovin' their dear company
and the enjoyment
they bring to our hearts and lives...

They're the "dessert" in our days,
their presence fills you up
and satisfies you.
They're the strawberries dipped in chocolate,
and the "mmmmm" moments.

Now's the age that we get to really appreciate them,
enjoy them,
savour them.

Savour those "dripping-with-caramel"
fun days, even moments.
The days of leisure
and afternoon visits,
and chats,
and unexpected get-together-lunches.

These are those "no special occasions"
that without knowing,
really are "special occasions"

These  are  "the good old days"
that we'll remember later and treasure...
The memories sweet

The "good-to-the-last-drop",
belly-aching-from-laughing days.
The  "no special occasions"
that were made special..
just by the gathering of loved ones.

Is there anything sweeter than this?
:)

Deborah xo

Cinnamon roll days, giggles and the sound of angel wings

Good day friends!
How's your mid week going?
It's a gorgeous blue sky, winters' day here,
bright and sunshiney all over kind of day!

One of those mornings,
when "hmmm I feel like something sweet"
I popped these grocery store, in-a-tube, ready to bake
cinnamon rolls
into the oven,
and covered them with the icing while still hot.
Mmmmmmm...

Is that a little hand I see?
:)

Sienna and my daughter had come for a visit
and what better time to pop something
easy and dee-lish into the oven for the 3 of us!

Did it bring smiles
and happy tummies?
Yes!!!
And it brought out this gals camera
for pure enjoyment and some memories to make and share..

A picture says a thousand words?

Fun for everyone
and a yummy snack
that ended with sticky fingers
and smiles all around...

My daughter, Cara is my angel too;
she came over this morning
and cleaned out my fridge for me xo
She's always been such a great little cleaner-upper!
Right from the time she could walk, shes been making beds,
 tidying up,
cleaning and helping out.
Not all angels have wings
(wink)

Have a lovely day!!!

All my heart...Deborah xo

Natures Decor

I can't help but love the "beauty" of winter...
Even though I do not favour cold weather,
I'm sure I would miss this season
where nature seems to sleep under a blanket of "winter whites".

So far, winter here has been kind...
it's not a bitter cold this season,
and I'm loving the milder temps.
I went for a walk on the weekend
with our littliest scottish terrier, Maggie
and my daughter and her boyfriend and his daughter.
It was beautiful!
If all of winter was as pleasant to be outdoors as that day was...
I'd be giggling right through until spring.
:)

As I uploaded my shots from our walk,
I was not only amazed at the simplicity of winters wonders,
but by the way natures
colours suit each other so gloriously.
The whisper of the whitest snow with the textured browns of dried meadow flowers
are striking up against one another.
They compliment each other....
We can certainly learn alot
by looking closely at how God "paints" so many pictures
with colours and textures.
He really does make all things
beautiful....
Theres something beautiful in every season,
as well as in every season of our lives.
He does all things well..
Go ahead Lord,
make something
extra-ordinary,
something beautiful
out of our lives...

In His love,
Deborah xoxo

Pure Winter Whites

Happp Monday my sweet friends!
I did it girls!!
I captured some "light"
by chalk-painting my dining room table benches and sides of my table
pure white.
I'm really loving the farmhouse table in white!
It's amazing how it brightens up the whole room.
We already have natural light from the patio doors,
but this adds just an extra brightness
which I'm loving.

It was easy-peasy,
just a matter of taking the time to work on it.
I'm usually slow about finishing up projects,
but it eventually gets done
sooner or later
(usually later)
:)

I don't have enough paint left for the armoire,
plus I'm considering whether I'm going to paint it or just leave it ebony.
Black and white are quite lovely together.
:)

The benches that my hubby had previously made and stained black,
covered quite nicely in the pure white.
I love Annie Sloans chalk paint
and the time it saves on preparation.

Chalk it up (no pun intended)
to another winter project completed.
Yeah!!!
My daughter said "Mom thats enough white,
you're going to get sick of it"!
Nope, nope I won't.
:)
But it is so fun to change things up
with paint,
and hey, if we change our mind...
theres many colours to choose from!
Okay, next on my list is to "re-paint"
something that was once turquoise!
Yep, I'm at it again!
Are you finding lots of winter projects
to take you into spring?!

All my heart,
Deborah xo
