Happy Valentine's Day friends!
Gift-giving should always begin in the heart...
in the deep places where love abides.
I wanted to make something for my hubby
for "the celebration of love"
(Valentines Day)
Something for his bedside.
So I actually began with something he made for me
at Christmas time.
Before Christmas we went out together to find some
cork that I found which was sold in a tube all rolled up,
ready made to cut to the size desired.
I had wanted to make a corkboard
with a home-made frame.
This frame was lovingly made by my hubby...
I love it!
We made some gifts together at Christmas,
but I told him that I would love to keep this one,
because I said that nobody would
appreciate it quite like me
because I know the care he took in making it shabby-chic.
:)
I love every inch of it!
I used some darling push-pins,
that look like buttons,
which I picked up a few months ago at a Dollar Store.
Who's says we can't make a memory-board,
Rachel Ashwells style for a guy?!
:)
Thats what I'm making for him..
a personal-to-him board
of memories..
black n' white images!
Don't you love black n'whites? I sure do!
So this will take a bit of time and love & thought....
I've started with some dear family photos,
and added some of his favourite passtimes,
like fishing lures.
I mean, for us women, its frills and pretties,
but for guys its family and sports and fun guy-things..lol
That pretty green stone says "soulmates"
and I glued it to some twine.
I added a heart I meant to give him for Christmas but forgot.
Now, I'm glad...it works out perfect this way.
I have some old bottles and I used one to add one of our wedding photos to.
I added a bit of ribbon
and glued a pretty pottery barn starfish on it.
A reminder of the love that brought us together....
a message in a bottle from me to him. xo
A wooden bowl I bought on last years holidays in St. Jacobs....
I filled it with little stones
and words of life.
A little romantic chandelier light
(missing 2 candles..lol )
And some hugs & kisses!
I've got enough of these for all of you!
Sending much love your way
lovely friends!
All my heart...Deborah xoxo
