Come on in....I want to show and tell
;)
I just savoured 4 1/2 glorious days with my kids
down south and loved every minute of it!
My goodness it's so good to slip away
and do some fun things with the ones you adore.
This is our bedroom door and my mood board
greets my hubby and I when we enter in.
It's filled with little bits and bobs (as the lovely Rachel Ashwell would say)
and sweet memories of our children and our lives together as a family.
Yes that's my daughters pony tail from when she was a little girl..
hair down to her waist.
Still is down to her waist!
Yep...I'm sentimental and a romantic...
through and through.
A n y w a y ....
while I was there (at my sons).....
we took a little road trip to Ikea.
I know that quite a few of my fellow bloggers love Ikea...
and I am no exception!
I love their Ektorp white couch, loveseat, and sectional
and they are on my wish list!
Very shabby chic I might add...and I love shabby.
Their bedding, dishes, pots and pans, candles, décor
and home ideas are great and the prices are very reasonable.
Even their breakfast was dee-lish!
And the price? Well lets just say it makes us giggle!
What's not to love?!
Ok ...anyway....
I was kind of keeping an eye out for a romantic bed sheet set.
I spied with my little eye,
something that was pink!
And with roses on it!
My son said..."lets wait until we get to the main section
and we'll find the king size set because all they had at the display was the queen size".
"Alright hunny" and off we went.
We got to the section and he hands me a set of sheets,
but I said "this isn't the right ones,
these have blue stripes with the roses",
so we looked a little closer.
Oh here they are, but theres no king size ;(
Oh no, here's a king size!
P e r f e c t!!!!
I held her in my arms and saw that King size
glaring at me and contentment set in.
;)
Back to work the following day after my trip..
was too busy to even take her out of the package.
But last night I brought her down to the washer and pulled out the pillow cases
and through them in the wash...there's nothing like "fresh sheets"
for your bed!
Went to pull out the fitted and flat sheet...
but where's the fitted sheet?
What is this...this doesn't even look like a flat sheet ???
THAT'S BECAUSE IT ISN'T A FLAT SHEET!
IT'S A D U V E T C O V E R!!!!
Lol
Oh heavens!
I bought the wrong thing...
and it's 5 hrs away from here
and I already threw the pillow cases in the wash!
I phoned my son, told him, and he said,
"Mom keep the receipt and when
Dad comes up we'll exchange it for you"
"Too late son, I already threw the pillow cases in the washer"
It's ok don't worry about it.
Well.... might as well try this on...
since its going to be a keeper.
Hmmmm....
I think I am going to like this.
But I just came home with my new quilt for our bed?
But hmmm I really am liking this too.
Ok the roses...
yes the roses...
I'm loving the r o s e s!
All over our bed!
How could something that was wrong
turn out to be so right?!
A mistake turned into something beautiful.
Isn't l i f e like that oft-times?
We see things as a mistake;
something that's gone wrong in our eyes,
and yet...
s o m e t i m e s,
they are really blessings in disguise,
or things or situations
that our Lord
turns into a b l e s s i n g
Things way more important than duvet cover mix-ups.
:)
It's wonderful to see things
from
His perspective
All it takes is a look upward from the "heart"
\0/
Big hugs & smiles
to you...
All my heart,
Deborah xoxo
P.S. My sweet hubby is working away at my shabby shed!
I might just have to give you some sneek peeks soon?
;)

ReplyDeleteDeborah (my name as well)...before I even scrolled down far enough to see it, the song "Blessings" came to my mind as I was reading! I truly know from many experiences that almost always in my life, they have been blessings in disguise. I love this post.
ReplyDeleteDebby
Those are beautiful sheets! I also love both IKEA and Shabby Chic! :) Thanks for sharing the song, too.
