Dit is het 2e sunburst blok dat gemaakt is, omdat ze zo groot zijn, is het makkelijk om ze met de naaimachine te maken.

This is the 2nd sunburst block, because they are  52cm square it is easy to work with the sewingmachine.

Blok no3 moet nog even wachten, want we zitten momenteel in Frankrijk, en er was een limiet aan wat ik aan handwerkspullen mee mocht nemen (lol).

Maar de Engelse mandjes zijn wel meegekomen dus binnenkort zal ik de volgende 2 showen.
But the English baskets came along to France, so  will show soon the next 2 baskets.

De bollen in de bloembakken komen al voorzichtig op, we werden begroet met bloeiende tulpen, nu is het wachten op de kersenbloesem.


The bulbs in the flowerpots showing there heads above the earth. Upon arrival we were greeted by the red tulips.So now it is waiting for the cherryblossom.

En de poesjes zijn weer helemaal thuis, dit is nog een oude foto, want er is geen tijd om te poseren, de muizenjacht is weer geopend.

The cats are back at home, and they like it very much, this is an old picture, as they have no time to sit and be pretty. The mouse hunting has been opened.

een nieuw blok

Dit zijn de mallen voor het blok Sunburst,vind de ontwerpen van Kathy Doughty van Material Obsession ook altijd erg leuk om naar te kijken, en haar kleurgebruik is iets heel anders dan wat ik gewend ben. Maar je moet altijd open staan voor iets nieuws nietwaar. Dus heb maar eens een sunburst blok gemaakt.

These are the templates of the Sunburst block. Like the designs of Kathy Doughty of Material Obssesion. It is fun to look at her color choice and fabrics.

Eerst verzinnen welke kleuren ik ga gebruiken, en het moet vooral anders dan anders zijn.


So started with a block and used colors which are not my normal palette, but you have to think out of the box.

De kleur van het hart wordt cheddar-geel.
The color of the heart will be cheddar-yellow.

De punten zijn aanelkaar gezet.

The star is assembled, yet to sew the heart into it.

Nog het hart erin gezet,alles heeft nog een strijkbeurtje nodig, maar daar wacht ik mee tot de laatste rand eromheen zit, ben anders bang dat het gaat lubberen.

The block needs still to iron, but will wait till the background has been assemled, due to distortion.

Het was heerlijk om weer eens een blok op de naaimachine te maken, is makkelijk te doen, want het totale blok zal ongeveer 52cm in het vierkant zijn, dus geen priegelwerkje.Dit wordt een leuk project tussen de appliqueblokken door.

It was fun to make this block with the sewingmachine, it was easy because the size is 52cm. square.


So and now back to my applique baskets.
