Interesting to hear the debut of R&M. Much more chuffed about the way things turned out in the Body Music aspects. However, the vision has always been in tact from the beginning. You can definitely see why that connection with 3Teeth was made so early in both their careers. In Ministry We Trust.

Born to Consume - five tracks written, conceived or released in 2012/13 when R&M first appeared on the scene.

The influences range from late 80s metal Ministry and Industrial Punk to the Hooky bass lines in New Order bass lines, leftfield Electronica to Ambient, these are five wildly different tracks yet all some how make sense as a collection.

The Markets and Warm Game were originally free downloads in 2012, Debt is King was a free D/L in 2013. Eastern Bloc was actually free D/L much later in 2018 and Legacy of Orgreave (demo) was never actually released.

Liner notes giving a bit of background about the tracks...

The Markets - Greed works, fuck the poor. This track is what happens when you listen  to Ministry's Land of Rape and Honey, a lot, and consume masses of information about  economic inequalities around the world. Also the spectre of Gordon Gekko, from the 80s movie  Wall Street, looms large in this track. Originally released as a free download in 2012 and backed  by a kick ass video created by Manchester's Meat Cassette...check it out on youtube.

  Debt is King - Keeping up the gnarly Industrial Punk theme, this time a track heavily  influenced by how debt is pushed upon the citizens of the World. We have shifted from saving  money to borrowing money and many of us will be in some form of debt until we die. Nice.  Also backed with a quality Meat Cassette video available on youtube.  

Eastern Bloc - Although quite a heavy groove New Order were definitely the go to influence  for this track, originally conceived as a companion piece to True Order. The mix of this version  was actually tweaked slightly back in 2017, I think. Eastern Bloc has it's origins in the politics of the  Cold War era, actually came about after hearing an infamous radio outtake by Ronald Regan in  which he jokes... "My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."   

War Game - A free download back in 2012 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis. This track exists because of the 1982 movie WarGames, an excellent commentary about the futility of nuclear war. Meat Cassette once again brought their A-Game and delivered a stunning video. Seek it out on youtube.  

Legacy of Orgreave - Margaret Thatcher went to war with the mining communities in the mid  1980s as the miners used major Industrial action to push back against the potential closure of many collieries.

The South Yorkshire village of Orgreave became infamous for a literal battle between the striking miners and the police. Many miners were arrested after the battle of Orgreave and put on trial but the trials collapsed and charges dropped, the South Yorkshire police would go on to pay half a million  pounds in compensation to some of the miners for brutality.
This was a defining moment in the decline of British Industrial sector. Margaret Thatcher and her conservative party had won the war, the unions were defeated and  eventually many of the mines shut down... but the mines were the hearts of the communities and as  the hearts were ripped out everything around them slowly died away, both economically and  socially. The result was hundreds of thousands of families left broke and broken and disillusionment and distrust in the political establishment was the legacy left behind which is still very much prevalent today.
