Harmonic Series 3
"Harmonic Series" was produced in 2003 and its output was two records and an installation version, which remained unreleased this far. Beyond ambient, this version is not meant as “music” but as a sound, a sound to inhabit a space. It has no performing input and I meant it to be in motion but still, and in an emotionally transparent way. Sound installations are usually specific to a site (often called “site-specific”), whereas "Harmonic Series 3" is portable, to fit in any space of your choice (hence the “site-universal” sub- title). It’s made of sinewaves, tuned to natural harmonics of a frequency, gradually surging, receding and panning at different rates (a few added interference tones occasionally also produce beat frequencies). Harmonics are a phenomenon of Nature and have been studied since around 2500 years ago.
