New  stamp from India Post

 100th birth anniversary of Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj

Date of issue :  28 June 2025

On 28 June 2025, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a commemorative postage stamp on the 100th birth anniversary of Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj in New Delhi. The stamp pays tribute to the life and teachings of Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj. It honours his immense contributions to the pursuit of knowledge, spiritual upliftment, and social reform.

50th Golden anniversary of Acharya Padarohan Diwas of Digambar Jain Aacharya Puja Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj : 22 November 2021 : Satna

On the occasion of 50th golden anniversary of Acharya Padarohan Diwas of Digambar Jain Aacharya Puja Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj, a special cover and special cancellation was released at Satna (M.P.). A function was organised at the office of superintendent of post offices Satna. Mr. Yogesh Tamrakar, Director MTNL was the chief guest and Mr R. D. Sharma superintendent of post offices presided the function. Mr Sudhir Jain, president, Central India Philatelic Society and Er. Ramesh Jain President, Digambar Jain Samaj Satna where special guests. Mr.  Rajendra Agrawal Shashi, Mr Piyush Jain and Singhai  Jay Kumar Jain also addressed the function. Large number of philatelists and citizens where present on this occasion. This was the 40th special cover issued by the Central India Philatelic Society since the year 1974. Among these this is the fifth cover related to Jainism.

SPECIAL COVER ON JAIN VISHVA BHARTI ISSUED TODAY AT INDORE

 On the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Jain Vishva Bharti, a special cover has been issued at Indore on 21st May 2021. India Post has provided a special cancellation on the same.

Image of renowned Jain saint Ganacharya Aacharya Tulasi, administrative building and logo of Jain Vishva Bharti are depicted on the special cover. Various projects of Jain Vishva Bharti like Preksha Dhyan, Literature publication, Education, Medical help, Distance learning, Social service are also included in the design of special cover.

Concept and design of this cover has been developed by senior Philatelist of Indore Dr. Ravindra Pahalwan and Mr. Rajesh Kothari. Cover is available at Indore Philatelic Bureau @ 10/- plus 5/- cost of stamp.

Finnish Postcard 150 Years

150 Years of Postcards in Finland

Here is a beautiful set of stamps in form of stamp booklet issued by Finnish Post on 150 years of Postcards in Finland. The stamps feature first official postcard and postcards with different themes. The design of the FDC is wonderful in the shape and design of a postcard. The designer of the stamps and First Day cover needs high appreciation for these beautiful and thoughtful exquisite deigns. The designs of Finnish stamps and First day covers  are one of the finest designs in the world. These are always unique  !

Postcard 150 Years

Postcards have relayed the messages and feelings of Finns for 150 years. Susanna Rumpu and Ari Lakaniemi have summarized the history of postcards in a stamp booklet that presents six postcards from different times. The stamps feature one of Finland’s first official postcards from 1871 as well as a postcard featuring the Finnish flag and a farmer, a military postcard from the war years, a fairytale-themed postcard illustrated by Rudolf Koivu and a landscape postcard showing Porvoo. The Postcard 150 Years stamp booklet contains six different domestic no-value indicator stamp designs.

Special franking on "LIVE & LET LIVE" on 10-10-2020

A special Franking Cancellation has been issued at Hubli (Karnataka) with Jainism slogan "LIVE & LET LIVE" on Unique Date10-10-2020.Only 300 serial-numbered covers were printed, franked and posted. The same day they were delivered with the delivery seal.

New Special Cover - 156th Maryada Mahotsav

New special cover was  issued on 31 January 2020 at Hubballi (Karnataka) during 156th Maryada Mahotsav of Pujya Acharya Mahashraman Ji Maharaj. Padmavibhushan Rajarshi Dr. D. Virendra Heggade of Dharmsthala was chief guest of the function. Mr. Mahavir Kundur, Vice Chairman, Jainism Philately Group was instrumental in release of this special cover.

Club News

A stamp exhibition  of Martyrs a Salutation was held at Lecorbuser Museum by Renowned Philatelist Mr Rakesh Walia wherein he displayed stamps on martyrs issued by India from 1957 to 2016.A total of around 40 stamps and first day covers along with a brief about them were put on display. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr Gurvinderpal Singh followed by a painting competition by school children. 

The exhibition will be going from school  to school for the benefit of the children .  the next display will be on 5th and 6th  in Baal Bhawan , sector 23, Chandigarh.

 Jain Saint Acharya Shantisagar Maharaj

On the occasion of inauguration of centenary year celebration of Muni Diksha of first Digsmber Jain Acharya of 20th century Prathamacharya Shantisagar Ji Maharaj, a special cover and special cancelation has been released at Humcha (Karnataka) on 20th March 2019. 

A function was organized in the holy presence of Pujya Acharya Vardhmansagar ji Maharaj in which Swasti Shree Devandrakeerthi Bhattarak Swamiji released the cover. Many other Jain Math Bhattarakji, Sri Ashok Patni, Sri Nirmal Kumar Shethi, and Karnataka Chapter Convenor of Jainism Philately Group Mr. Mahaveer Kundur etc. were guest of honor.

Special Cover on Ice Stupa

On March 18, 2019 India Post  released a ‘special stamp cover on Ice Stupa’. The stamp was released by Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Postmaster General during a function organised at the Ice Stupa site at Gangles Village in Leh.

A number of officers and dignitaries from Army and civil administration were present on the occasion.

Over 12 villages in Ladakh have built ice Stupas this year in various villages.

With the technical and material support by the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives Ladakh ( HIAL) , village youths have enthusiastically participated in building the ice Stupas. 

To keep motivated, this year HIAL has organized a competition among the villages on ice Stupas .

Ramon Magsaysay and Rolex award winner Sonam Wangchuk said simple living in cities only would help and allow the ecology of mountains to just survive. 

Global warming, ecological imbalance have caused irreparable damage oñ Himalayas, thus this awareness through the stamp release has been taken up, he said.

Ice Stupas is not any celebration but survival technique we in SECMOL have developed over a period, Wangchuk said.

Saving Winter water, that flows waste, in a cone shaped stupa which is not melted easily is the main idea behind it , he explains.

This stupa melts slowly  and serves the purpose of drinking and irrigation, he said. 

In each ice Stupa atleast 30-50 lakh ltrs of water is saved. This is apart from the naturally saved water in the slopes of mountains, Sonam Wangchuk said.

New Special Cover : Dharmsthsla Bahubali Mahamastakabhishek

 Dharmsthsla Bahubali Mahamastakabhishek Mahotsav 2019 - 9 February 2019

India Post has released a special cover and special  cancellation on Sataurday 9th February 2019 on the occasion of Baghavan Bahubali Swamy 4th Mahamastakabhishek Mahotsav -2019 at  Ratnagiri, Dharmstala (District South Kannada) Karnataka.

In grand starting function of Mahamastakabhishek, this cover was released by Pujya Sri Vishweshathertha  Swamiji of Udupi Pejawar Mutt, Padmavibhushana Dr.  Veerendra Heggade ji Kshetradhikari of Dharmsthsla,  Chief Minister of Karnataka Honorable Sri Kumarswamy, 

Central Minister Sri Sadanandgouda, Minister Sri U T Khadar, India Post SSPO Puttur Division Sri Jagadhish Pai, Mr. Mahaveer Kundur, Karnataka State Chairman of Jainism Philately Group released the cover in the auspicious  presence of Pujya Acharya Vardhman Sagar ji maharaj and his sangh. Many more Galaxy of Karnataka State Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, officials were also present in the

grand Colourful, Traditional Function.

This 39 feet high statue of Bhagwan Bahubali was established by Dr. Veerendra Heggade ji in the year 1982. After every 12 years grand Mahamastakabhishek mahotsav is being organized here. This is the 4th Mahamastakabhishek. Previously during inauguration in the year 1982 and during last Mahamastakabhishek in the year 2007 also special covers had been issued.

In 1942, Sri. Devudu Narasimha Sastry, Vidyasagara MPL Sastry and others started this Gandhinagar High School in Gandhinagar to impart quality education to the students of the locality. Under the stewardship of Late Prof. MPL Sastry school rose high by imparting good and value based education. The alumni includes many of our last and present State and Central Ministers, lAS, IPS, KAS, Central and State Officers. This special cover is being released to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the school.

On the occasion of 63rd punyatithi Mahotsav of first Jain Saint Prathamachaya Shanti Sagar Ji Maharaj, two special covers and special cancellations have been issued at famous Jain pilgrim centres Sravanabelgola (Karnataka) and Rishabhgiri Mangi Tungi (Maharashtra) on 11th September 2018.

At Sravanabelgola special cover was released in the holy presence of Pujya Bhattarak Charukirti Mahaswamiji in a grand function. At Mangi Tungi Pujya Aryika Gyanmati Mataji and Pujya Ravindra Kirti Swamiji graced the release function.

Mr. Mahaveer Kundur Hubli, Mr. Ravindra Kumar Jain Malegaon and Mr. Shantilal Hiran Nasik of Jainism Philately Group and Mr. Manish Jain Bangalore and Mr. Jagannath Mani Bangalore of Karnataka Philatelic Society were instrumental in release of these covers.
