Stamps on World Kiss Day– 6 July
Date of Issue : 16 June 2015
Here are new stamps to be released by San Marino on two unusual themes. Both the sets will be released on 16th June 2015.
San Marino Post is to release an original stamp set to celebrate one of the most pleasant holiday – World Kiss Day. The issue consists of four items that are to be put into circulation on the 16th of June.
The event has been celebrated in the United Kingdom on the 6th July since 1990 and it spread soon worldwide. Its aim is to pay homage to a gesture that contains in its intrinsic value the sense of love in its wider and universally recognized forms.
The set dedicated to the World Kiss Day recalls immediately the feeling of brotherly sharing and symbolic human union: the kissing lips have the shape of a red heart full of passion and happiness.
World Toilet Day – 19th November
Date of Issue – 16 June 2015
San Marino Post dedicates issued a set of stamps to the World Toilet Day. The set depicts colorful and vivid figures using toilet. The design suggests a serious reflection upon this dramatic topic in order to make the access to sanitation for all a priority of global development. The issue is to be put into circulation on the 16th of June.
In 2013 the UN General Assembly declared November the 19th “World Toilet Day”. This event provokes the conscience of the developed western countries. In fact the access to sanitation, which we take for granted, is still a dream for a third of mankind. 2.5 billion people don’t have access to proper sanitation, including toilets and latrines, with dramatic consequences on human heath, dignity and security. Every day 2,000 children under 5 years old die because of diarrhoea due to poor sanitation. The most affected areas are India and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The open defecation for girls and women in some countries brings the risk of being kidnapped or raped in the search of an isolated place. Moreover, many girls skip the school when they begin menstruating because the schools don’t have improved sanitation. Therefore the United Nations launched a wide campaign with the aim of awakening public opinion towards the lack of proper sanitation in many countries of the world.

3D Printing Revolution
Date of Issue : 10 March 2015
Here is a new set of stamps from San Marino. The philatelic issue dedicated to the 3D Printing Revolution is made up of three revolutionary stamps of € 0.10-0.80-2.15. Innovation, emerging technologies and internationality are the characteristics of the first philatelic set designed by the American illustrator Andy Rementer. He is the author of “Techno Tuesday”, a comic about the nervous habits and idiosyncrasies of the technologic world. The 3D printer is an advanced technology that produces tridimensional objects, made of plastic or other materials, from a computer 3D model. Rementer designed three virtual scenes that forerun the times with his original and visionary comic strip style. The set represents the production of food (€0.10 value), more complex and elaborate objects (€0.80 value) and a provoking “duplicate” of a human being (€2.15 value). This topic will be object of the intellectual debates.
The Republic of San Marino is, perhaps, not as well-known as its famous boot-shaped neighbor, Italy, but it quietly boasts some pretty impressive statistics — the micronation is the world’s oldest surviving sovereign state and constitutional republic, maintains a level of per capita GDP on par with those of wealthy nations like Denmark, has no national debt, and is the only nation in the world to have more vehicles than people. Among the tiny state’s claims to fame, though, is that about 10% of the national revenue comes from its famous postage stamps, which are sold to collectors (philatelists) around the world.
Stamp collecting as a hobby is still alive and well, despite the bite electronic communications have taken from posted pieces. Stamps are valued for designs honoring individuals, events, and technologies that have impacted a society — and one of the latest sets in San Marino’s postage offerings celebrates the impact that 3D printing is having.
Andy Rementer, the designer of the stamps
Andy Rementer, the designer of the new stamp collection, is a US-based artist who produces innovative commercial, editorial, cartoon, painted, and animated pieces. .
Rementer’s collection comprises three designs, each with a different valuation for posting. Each of the three designs represents a different application of 3D printing technology, honoring “La Rivoluzione della
Stampa 3D,” the 3D Printing Revolution. This collection is the first of its kind for Rementer, whose designs have appeared in magazines, art installations, and comics — and now also grace envelopes and philatelic collections.

New stamp on Rainbow..
Date of Issue : 7 June 2013
Hi !
Here is a beautiful stamp to be issued by San Marino Post on June 7. The beautiful stamp issue will commemorate the inauguration of a Nursery school in Malawi – Matola. But in the design the stamp also features a symbolic Umbrella Rainbow and colors of the Rainbow. This stamp is a nice item for my Rainbow collection.
Inauguration of the nursery school in Malawi-Matola
The philatelic set dedicated to the inauguration of the nursery school with a refectory in Malawi-Matola celebrates the solidarity of the people of San Marino put in action by the San Marino for the Children Onlus Association. The 0.10€ value designed by Maddalena Medas depicts two children protected by a symbolic umbrella with the map of Africa and the colours of the rainbow. The 0.70€ stamp designed by Ladabox.com shows a picture taken on the occasion of the inauguration on the 23rd February 2013.
UNESCO City of World Literature
On 16 May 2013, An Post issued a stamp to commemorate Dublin UNESCO City of World Literature. The stamp features a story about Dublin written by Eoin Moore.
When the city of Dublin was nominated UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) City of Literature in July 2010, the capital of Ireland became just the fourth city to be honoured, following in the footsteps of Edinburgh, Scotland (2004), and Melbourne, Australia and Iowa City, USA (2008).
This acknowledgement while most gratifying, was hardly surprising. Stop a stranger on the street almost anywhere in the world and ask which world city do they most associate with literature and chances are they will say Dublin.
The city on the Liffey lays claim to no fewer than three Nobel Prize winners for Literature: George Bernard Shaw, W.B. Yeats and Samuel Beckett. Other literary luminaries who have called Dublin home include Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde, Sean O’Casey, Flann O’Brien, Brendan Behan and James Joyce. More recently, the list of Dublin-based scribes has lengthened considerably. The names of Roddy Doyle, John Banville, Anne Enright, Sebastian Barry and Joseph O’Connor have helped ensure that Dublin’s rich literary tradition continues to flourish. Authors abound in one of the world’s most literary cities.
The UNESCO designation – which is on a permanent basis – recognises the quality, quantity and diversity of Dublin’s many excellent libraries, publishing houses and booksellers, as well as its world-acclaimed writers. Some of the other criteria for the designation include having literary-focused educational programmes, experience in staging literary events and festivals, the role played by literature in the urban environment, and the active involvement of the media in promoting literature and growing the market for literary products.

New stamps on Bridges
The Spanish Correos issued two stamps within the series “Bridges of Spain”. This time, the issue is dedicated to the Bridge of Besalu (Gerona) and the Los Santos Bridge over Ria de Ribadeo.
The Bridge of Besalu (Girona) is one of the most characteristic bridges of the medieval period. It is located in the medieval village of the same name in the province of Gerona. It began to be built in the 11th century to save the river Fluvia¡ and establish communications between the town and the land on the other side of the river.
The Bridge of Los Santos over Ria de Ribadeo links the towns of Ribadeo (Lugo) and Castropol (Asturias) and is a highlight of civil engineering. It was built over the vast Ribadeo estuary between 1983 and 1987. The bridge is 600 meters long.

Christmas 2012 stamps..
Faroe Islands
Date of Issue : 24 September
Christmas Carol stamps from Faroe Islands The Faroese Post launches the third traditional Christmas issue dedicated to the popular Faroese Christmas carols. The 2012 issue celebrates "Hvi man tad vera…?" and "Gledilig Jol" carols.
There is hardly any Faroese who does not immediately recognize the cheerful chorus of the song "Hvi man tad vera so hugnaligt i kvold?" (Why is everything so cozy tonight?). The song was written by Christian Holm Isaksen (1877-1935).
The song "Gledilig Jol" ("Silent night"), whose original title is "Stille Nacht", was presented for the first time on December 24th 1818 in Nikolaus-Kirche in Oberndorf, Austria. It was written two years earlier by the priest Joseph Mohr - and for the service in 1818, he had asked the head master and composer Franz Xaver Gruber to compose a melody for the poem.
San Marino
Issue date: 16th October 2012
A stamp dedicated to nativity by Marco Ventura. The oil painting represents "Madonna con bambino" (Our Lady with Child), in the background there is the Mount Titano of San Marino. The two archangels seem to protect the family sacredness.
Classic Christmas images by Royal Mail
Date of Issue : 6 November 2012
The illustrator behind the world famous children's classic The Gruffalo brings his unique style to this year's Royal Mail Christmas stamp issue.
The seven stamps, issued on 6 November, are inspired by classic Christmas images, brought to life through the instantly recognisable illustrations of Axel Scheffler.
His gentle and disarming approach can be seen straight away on both the 1st and 2nd class stamps; a Christmas robin perches on Santa's hand on the 1st Class stamp, while a reindeer's antlers take on the role of a Christmas tree for the 2nd Class image.
The other Christmas stamps feature a snowman meeting a penguin (87p), a Christmas robin bearing a star decoration in his beak (£1.28), and on the £1.90 stamps, the cat and mouse set aside their normal differences to decorate the Christmas tree together.

This is all for this evening…More in Next Post !!
San Marino issued a souvenir sheet with 4 stamps to commemorate 40th Anniv of UNESCO convention at Paris on Nov 16, 1972, concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
The UNESCO General Conference approved on the 16th November 1972 in Paris an agreement on the protection of the world, cultural and natural Heritage. The idea to create an international movement to protect cultural areas and nature was born in the second post-war period. The Agreement forces the Member States to regularly supply a report on the state of preservation of the registered areas. It encourages the public awareness about the world protected areas and improves the preservation by educational and informative programs .
“To preserve our heritage for the future generations” it is a must that the Agreement and the Member States fixed as a goal and warning. Today, after forty years from the signature of the agreement, the world heritage is well understood, so much that registered areas receive international cooperation, mutual help and management models.
With the souvenir-sheet designed by M. Ventura, “From Pyramids to Galapagos, to the whole world” the Azienda Autonoma di Stato Filatelica e Numismatica of the ancient Republic of San Marino makes the first issue after the agreement signed on the 3rd November 2011 in the UNESCO official seat where the “Progetto San Marino-Unesco” was accepted; a long-term cooperation to increase the value of Humanity Heritage through the philately of San Marino. The first stamp of the series shows, among other goods, the “Historic centre and Mount Titano” in foreground as part of the world humanity area heritage.
