Fascinating project. Like taking water and splitting it into its elemental hydrogen and oxygen, OYC has created separate musical worlds. Mr. Horberry’s ‘Vol 1: At Variance’ evokes awakenings and the sun peeking over the horizon at dawn. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Mr. Hulme’s ‘Vol. 2: Into the Pleasure Garden,’ are darker dreamscapes and evoke midnight. This is really really amazing. One of my favorite releases. Every now and then I make mixed tapes of Edward's solo tracks combined with some Tear Garden, LPDs, (a Skinny Puppy track now and then) but this album stands alone as something to hear at full length.
