I love the old Bond soundtracks. It part because the music itself is of such very high quality: 1960s orchestral pop with heavy jazz and swing influences does it for me. And in part because I am of a "certain age" and first started picking up on music, TV shows, etc just as Spy Drama became the "hot thing" in the USA, due to the Cold War and such things. I read all of Ian Fleming's novels at an early age (starting with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in second grade), and although all but the first Bond film can be called "absurd parodies" of Fleming's work, I still enjoyed the Sean Connery movies very much.
Much more recently, the Daniel Craig movies impress me - not because of the stories, but because Daniel was born to play a wiry, bouncy, stone dangerous little powerhouse of a Special Forces guy. He plays it with just the right kind of humor and irony to balance out the stupid bits of the scripts he is handed. "Oi, we know this is bullshit but watch what happens next!"
Anyhow, thanks for the soundtrack, it fills a gap in my archives with a little bit of extra happiness. :D
